Naya CRM vs Zoho CRM and Pipedrive: the mid-market comparison

Both are good, well-priced CRMs. The difference is whether the CRM does the research and drafting, or your reps do.

13 October 2026 · Naya CRM by Appetite Technology

For a South African team of ten to fifty reps, the shortlist usually comes down to Zoho CRM, Pipedrive and, increasingly, Naya CRM. This is a fair look at all three, with prices checked on the vendors' own sites on 12 October 2026.

Zoho CRM

Zoho's strength is breadth at a low price. It is part of a suite that covers books, desk, campaigns and more, and it bills South African customers in rand. The editions and prices shown to a South African visitor on zoho.com, per user per month, VAT extra, are:

  • Standard: R196 billed annually, R280 billed monthly.
  • Professional: R322 annually, R490 monthly.
  • Enterprise: R560 annually, R700 monthly.
  • Ultimate: R728 annually, R910 monthly.

A free edition covers three users. On price per seat, Zoho is cheaper than Naya CRM at every tier, and that should be said plainly. Zoho's Enterprise edition also includes its own AI assistant, journey orchestration and territory management.

Pipedrive

Pipedrive's strength is simplicity. It is a pipeline-first CRM that reps generally like, with a 14-day free trial and calendar and contact sync from the start. The plans on pipedrive.com, per seat per month in US dollars, VAT exclusive, are:

  • Lite: $14 billed annually, $19 monthly.
  • Growth: $24 annually, $34 monthly.
  • Premium: $49 annually, $64 monthly.
  • Ultimate: $69 annually, $89 monthly.

Lead capture, projects, email campaigns, web visitor tracking and documents are paid add-ons, starting from $13.33 to $41 per month each. At an illustrative R17 to the dollar, Premium billed monthly is about R1,090 per seat; check the rate on the day.

Naya CRM

Naya CRM's rand price list, billed through Paystack, is Starter R349, Pro R699 and Team R1,249 per user per month, with a free two-seat plan and yearly billing at ten months for twelve. Outside South Africa the same tiers are $19, $39 and $69. Email, SMS and WhatsApp outreach, buying-committee enrichment and Naya's action suggestions are in Pro. Four-tier role-based access, manager reporting and webhooks are in Team.

Usage is metered in rand, visible on a rate card inside the product: SMS R0.45 per message part, WhatsApp R1.20 per marketing message and R0.20 per other message, voice R3.50 per minute. You pay for what you send.

The difference that is not on the price list

Zoho and Pipedrive are systems your reps work in. Naya CRM is a system that works alongside them.

Every new lead is researched: company registry, website, maps listing and people search, each finding with a confidence score and a source link. Naya, working with several partner data providers, finds the CEO, CTO or VP. Naya drafts the first email in your brand's voice from the campaign's Conversation DNA, one hook, short body, one ask, and a person approves it before it goes anywhere.

The sequence then runs Day 1 email, Day 2 WhatsApp, Day 4 email, through Day 8, inside working hours, and stops the moment the prospect replies, books, asks for a call or unsubscribes. Replies on email, SMS and WhatsApp land in one thread per lead.

A "book a call" button leads to your branded booking page with real calendar slots. The Zoom meeting, invite and confirmation create themselves, and the transcript and AI summary land on the lead afterwards.

At the close, dragging a card to Verbal Agreement drafts the agreement, sends the signature request and attaches a Paystack payment link. When it clears, the card advances to Closed Won.

Pipedrive's automations and Zoho's workflows can send follow-ups. Neither does the research or writes the persona-specific draft for approval. That is the hour a day that goes back to your reps.

Three honest reasons to choose the others

  • Budget. If R280 a seat is the ceiling, Zoho Standard is a sound CRM.
  • Simplicity. If your reps want a pipeline and nothing else, Pipedrive Lite or Growth is hard to beat.
  • Suite. If you already run Zoho Books and Zoho Desk, staying inside the suite has real value.

Three reasons to choose Naya CRM

  • Your reps spend their mornings researching and drafting, and you want that done overnight for approval.
  • WhatsApp and SMS belong in the pipeline, billed per message in rand, not in a separate tool.
  • You sell in South Africa and want rand pricing, Paystack, a local studio that uses the product on its own pipeline, and migration help that includes a dry run and a one-click rollback.

Moving from either is a CSV or XLSX import with smart column mapping, a row-by-row validation report before anything is written, and duplicates flagged for a person to merge.
